Mission Statement

The Ocooch Mountain Humane Society, Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to providing shelter and care to stray, unwanted, or abandoned animals in the Richland County area of Wisconsin. Founded on the principle of compassionate care, the organization is committed to assisting the community by helping place animals in healthy, humane surroundings while providing education and information about responsible animal care for all members of the community.

OMHS owns a cage free Adoption Center of adequate size to accommodate the needs of cats who are awaiting permanent, loving homes. This is a no kill shelter. Dogs are placed in screened foster homes until adoption. OMHS provides medical care, socialization and a safe environment. All of the animals we take in are spayed or neutered.

We receive no public monies and rely completely on private donations and fund raising. Our goal is to be able to maintain this shelter for years to come.
