Youth Volunteer Application

Younger volunteers are welcome at Ocooch Mountain Humane Society. A few additional requirements apply, and a parent or guardian must give consent before anyone under 18 can take part.

Before you apply, please note:

All volunteers under the age of 16 will need to have an adult volunteer accompany them when at the shelter or events.

Parental consent is needed for all volunteers under the age of 18.

Parents or legal guardians should read the Volunteer Application and associated forms. A parent or guardian signature is required for your child’s participation.

The application asks for contact details, current school and grade, an emergency contact completed by a parent, your volunteer and animal care experience, and the areas you are most interested in helping with.

Volunteers who work directly with animals will be exposed to animal dander, animal hair, cleaning chemicals, bouncy animal activity and other potential hazards. Some lifting and labor may occasionally be asked of volunteers.
